For the ones who never outgrew it

Nawaweeb started in a Lucknow bedroom with a stack of borrowed manga and a printer that jammed. The city gave us the other half: Chikankari, the white-on-white hand embroidery this place has been doing for four hundred years, worked by karigars who live twenty minutes from where we pack orders.

So a tee carries a panel of original ink work on the front and a hand-stitched bel buti on the cuff. Neither half is a costume. Both are where we’re from.
